Accident Summary:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE ACFT, THE PILOT AND CE NOTICED SMOKE
COMING FROM THE TRANS COMPARTMENT. THE PILOT AND CREW CHIEF IMMEDIATELY BEGAN
SEARCHING FOR THE SOURCE OF THE SMOKE. BURNING MATERIAL WAS FOUND IN THE LOWER
AFT AVIONICS COMPARTMENT. THE PILOT PULLED THE BURNING MATERIAL OUT WITH HIS
HANDS AFTER TWO FIRE EXTINGUISHES FAILED TO OPERATE. A THIRD FIRE EXTINGUISHER
WAS USED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE.
