| Comment: | 08/18/2001 I served with the 57th. from August, 1969 to January, 1971. I was fortunate enough to have moved with the 57th from Kontum to Ankhe and finally Pleiku. I certaiinly enjoyed our time in Kontum the most. Prior to my arrival at the 57th I had served with a security detachment from the 4th infantry division in Pleiku for 39 days. My duties while with the 57Th includeed P.M. teams,Team leader,Crew chief on the witchdoctor recovery helicopter and finaly technical inspector. I had hoped to see some people still there in 1972 that I had served with. I had expected at least to see W.O. Terry Weber. I did recognize several people on you guest list from some reunions that I have attended.We also had a 1970 year book made during the 7 months we were in Ankhe. The 1971 year book was started prior to my departure but I was not able to get one. You had a super idea making this site and I'm sure all who vist it are impressed I know I was. | Comment: | 04/15/2001 Just sitting here looking at my 1972 yearbook trying to put some faces with names after 28 years. I was in the 57th from June 72 to March 73. I flew with the First Flight Platoon when I first arrived in country and was the Second Flight Platoon Leader until we stood down. I was also the Property Book Officer. I still have the memo from the 1st Aviation Brigade S-4 saying all of the 57th's property was turned in! You never know when you might need it. | |
