| Comment: | I see a "Chuck Renkvish" on the 57th Roster with no year listed. Charlie and I traveled by bus from Virginia Beach (Norfolk actually) to Ft. Dix, N.J. and took the hop across the pond to Camp Holloway. I remained to join the 170th and Charlie continued to Kontum and the 57th. This was 1969. Charlie took a GSW to the leg FOB and was med-evaced to Pleiku AFB field hosp. Somehow word was passed to me and we set down at the AFB and that visit was the last time I saw Charlie. He was a great guy and I'm sure was a great Gladiator. God bless all you guys. | |
